Week 11: Technorati

What Technorati says about Technorati:
'Technorati is the leading monitor of the world of weblogs. Technorati is a real-time search engine that is the largest source of fresh information about the global and local conversations going on all across the Web. Technorati allows you to find out what people are saying about you, your company, your products, your competitors, your politics and, other areas of interest, on the Internet in real time.'

So it is pretty much a search engine for blogs.
It's different from google in a way that it ranks the blogs and it only deals with blogs which were claimed by people.

It is crap it doesn't work therefore I couldn't do anything about it including putting technorati badge on my blog etc etc..
why is it not claiming..

Week 10_b: RSS

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.
It is used to deliver contents of web pages which are constantly updating such as blogs, you tube, facebook etc.

RSS is used to be informed from different web sites at the same time without having to visit each sites one by one and log on every time you visit.

Google Reader gets items in RSS and makes you to read the feeds.

Week 10_a: Counters

Counter is used for counting numbers of access in a web.
So if someone enters my blog, my counter number will increase by one.
And if two people access my blog it will increase by two and so on.
You would use counters for keeping records of average number of accesses for a web for example as well as keeping track of web analysis.
